Howard County

Howard County, Kokomo, Indiana Disability Attorneys

Howard County, originally named Richardsville County, was renamed in 1844 to commemorate General Tilghman Ashurst Howard who was appointed by President Jacksons as District Attorney for Indiana. He ran an unsuccessful campaign for Indiana Governor in 1840 and U.S. Senator in 1843.

Kokomo is officially known as the "City of Firsts" especially in automobile manufacturing, with Elwood Haynes test-driving his early internal combustion engine auto there on July 4, 1894. Haynes and his associates built several other automobiles over the next few years; the Haynes-Apperson Automobile Company for mass-production of commercial autos was established in Kokomo in 1898. Haynes went on to invent Stainless Steel flatware in 1912 to give his wife tarnish-free dinnerware. In 1938, the Delco Radio Division of General Motors (now Delphi) developed the first push button car radio.

In 1928, Walter Kemp of Kemp Brothers Canning Co. developed the first canned tomato juice due to a request by a physician in search for baby food for his clinic. Kokomo is also home to the first mechanical corn picker developed by John Powell in the early 1920s. Kokomo was home to the first Ponderosa Steakhouse and McDonald’s Diner in 1965.

Thanks again for all your help with my eye sight case. Please feel free to use me as a reference for any of your potential clients who want to know if you are qualified or experienced in vision impairment cases like mine. I do read for a living and I really appreciate everything you did to help me recover the money my insurance company did not want to pay. You are definitely familiar with my vision impairment and how it disabled me for many months. Thanks again. You did a GREAT JOB. Best Regards, Mike D

I am so incredibly thankful for your hard work and expertise on my case. This means so much to me, I started crying when I read your email. The settlement guarantees that I will be able to stay in my home with my son and not have to worry about moving back in with my parents in Illinois. This illness has, over the last several years, taken away nearly everything that was important to me, and my son was about all I had left. Knowing that I can stay in my home and continue to be a part of his daily life leaves me speechless with gratitude for you and your firm. Matthew K
