Jennings County, Vernon Indiana Disability Attorneys
Jennings County was created in 1817 and was named after Indiana’s first governor, Jonathan Jennings. The county seat is Vernon. Jennings county’s location requires only an hour and fifteen minutes’ drive to get to Cincinnati, OH, Indianapolis, IN and Louisville, KY. Located just outside of Vernon is the home of the Muscatatuck Urban Training Center. This center is used for various training exercises and scenarios conducted for homeland security.
Also, according to local folklore, there is a Sasquatch or Big Foot, that roams around all 4,228 acres of Crosley State Fish and Wildlife Area in southern Jennings County. The story of the Jennings County Monster started in 1958 when a person dressed up like big foot to scare the visitors in the Crosley State Fish and wildlife Area. Since most people living near that area knew the story was a hoax, not much was said about the monster. However, one evening in July of 2016 four boys were fishing and camping in the center. They claim that the Crosley Monster made his/her appearance at 11 p.m. one night, hearing strange noises and branches breaking.
The campers claim to have seen an 8-foot-tall half man half animal with yellow eyes. Weeks after the 2016 sighting, another boy who was squirrel hunting, claims to have seen the creature. Over the years, more sightings have been recorded, but no real proof has been provided to date.
