Starke County

Starke County, Knox Indiana Disability Attorneys

Starke County was created in 1835 and organized in 1850. The county was named after General John Stark who was commander of the New Hampshire troops at the Battle of Bunker Hill (1775) in the Revolutionary War. Knox is the county seat for Starke.

Starke County is the home of Bass Lake, a peculiar lake in Indiana due to its shallowness and long, sandy beaches. It is possible to talk long distances from the shore before reaching deep water. The lake’s maximum depth was 32 feet and the average less than 9 feet. Springs under the surface and a few flowing wells maintain the lake’s water level. Bass Lake is the only Indiana lake that provides good fishing for walleyed pike over a long period of years and one of a few lakes in the state where white bass are plentiful.

Starke County boasts an interesting past, including the birth of the only 2 headed calf on the Thompson Farm in 1938. The calf was born with 2 natural full-size heads, four hind legs and one body. Starke County was also the home of Che Mah, the smallest man in the world, prior to his death in 1926. Che Mah was only 28 inches tall and weight 40 pounds. He was brought to the United States in 1881 by Barnum and Bailey Circus.

Thanks again for all your help with my eye sight case. Please feel free to use me as a reference for any of your potential clients who want to know if you are qualified or experienced in vision impairment cases like mine. I do read for a living and I really appreciate everything you did to help me recover the money my insurance company did not want to pay. You are definitely familiar with my vision impairment and how it disabled me for many months. Thanks again. You did a GREAT JOB. Best Regards, Mike D
I am so incredibly thankful for your hard work and expertise on my case. This means so much to me, I started crying when I read your email. The settlement guarantees that I will be able to stay in my home with my son and not have to worry about moving back in with my parents in Illinois. This illness has, over the last several years, taken away nearly everything that was important to me, and my son was about all I had left. Knowing that I can stay in my home and continue to be a part of his daily life leaves me speechless with gratitude for you and your firm. Matthew K
